RING out the old RING in the new....

HAPPIEST OF HOLIDAYS AND NEW 2006!2005 has brought to me many joys and times of reflection. I know this is the same with us all! And NOW 2006 presents me with a lot of transitions and changes in life in all parts! These transitions are necessary but present many things for me ( and for a lot of my friends) to deal with on emotional and physical levels.
It's just about 11 days until the surgery, and life continues to present changes. I'm getting several things done in the house to make it cleaner and easier to care for when I'm immuno-suppressed. Probably not the best timing - but is it ever? I'm thankful as well for friends who are coming to be more present to me as the day of major transition nears.
You've read before that I think I've been sustained and maintained by your thoughts and prayers, and I'm never more certain of this than I am now. Thanks to each of you for your thoughts and prayers that have maintained me thusfar, and thanks in advance for those continued thoughts & prayers in the coming months of the new year.
I've done all the final preps a Duke for the first surgery and it's all still very much "a GO"! Surgery is anticipated to take between 2 and 5 hours on the 11th and will be followed by a day or two in ICU. During times of surgery and recoup, several friends will have access to posting on this site. I'm sure they'll keep each of you posted right here and update you with accurate information. If all goes well then the anticipated date for transplant is sometime around 6th February.
I'm not sure how much I'll post here before the date of the surgery, but rest assured that I'm doing fine and certainly I'm ready for all that is to come.
I'm wishing for each of you a wonderful 2006!
Tim
